Cruise lines added 68 new ships to their fleets from 2000 - 2005 and it is expected that a total of 100 new ships will be launched before the end of the decade. These new floating resorts and their innovative amenities have created a lot of buzz in recent years. Royal Caribbean's new Freedom class ships boast the FlowRider Surf Simulator while Norwegian Cruise Line has installed a bowling alley on one of its ships. From rock-climbing walls and fitness centers to libraries and spas, cruise lines are designing amenities for a diverse range of cruise guests.
